Evangel Assembly of God Church, Buffalo NY

Media

Media is a vital part of the services and special events here at Evangel. The Ministries responsibility and goal is to reproduce the creative expression and message of both the pastoral staff and worship team as they engage the audience and urge them to respond in worship to our Awesome God. Although the technology we use is not the latest and greatest, we still work hard to move the attention toward the message and not on the programs.

Even though this team is derived of 3 smaller teams that have extremely different disciplines, we're still one team with a simple goal - to create and maintain a worship environment that is engaging, genuine, and healthy for its church body.

The whole team consist of audio engineers, lighting technicians, and video operators. And each team is as equally important as the other. Every service or event these teams are designed to work in harmony with each and provide a distraction-free experience for whomever the events are intended for.

For any given week, each team consists of 2 people for each team. Those running Audio for the 8:30am service may not necessarily run Audio for the 11:00am service, and vice versa. Same goes for the Video and Lighting. Although it's not a requirement that the volunteer team comes out for rehearsals, it's highly encouraged.

If you have an interest in joining a team that is focused around technology and how it can be used to further God's kindgom we'd love to speak with you. Although prior experience in any of the fields that we work with is awesome, it's not required to get you started. And if you also have a musical background, that would be incredibly helpful as well. The team here at Evangel is dedicated to getting you started, improve your skills to serve more passionately, and to eventually allow you to train others with more confidence.

Team Positions:

Audio Engineers

The Audio team is responsible for creating the "mix" of instruments and vocals that the congregation hears as well as the individual mixes that each performer hears as they help the audience engage in their message. Experience in audio engineering is not a prerequiste but is highly desireable. It's also necessary for these engineer to have the ability to work under pressure, ability to hear detail without losing sight of the whole "mix", and the ability to troubleshoot. It's a bonus if you have a musical background.

Lighting Technicians

The Lighting division institutes the appropriate amount of lighting specific to each event. Whether it's low lighting for a prayer service, or lighting designed for high energy worship services, it's this teams responsibility to determine the needed number of fixtures and the placement for each fixture for every event.

The Video Operators

Ultimately this team is responsible for anything video related. Whether it's simply running the worship lyric software, or directing, creating, or purchasing videos, it's this team that puts in the effort to tends the needs of the audience of what we see on the projection systems.
